How can I update my workshop selections?

You can modify your registration to make workshop selections by logging into the Symposium Attendee Hub.

You will be asked to log in using the email address listed on your registration.  You will be emailed and texted a verification code that you will use to enter the Symposium Attendee Hub.  The verification code will last 24 hours, after which you will be sent a new one.

Once you are logged into the Symposium Attendee Hub you will be able to update your workshop selections within the “Full Symposium” section.  If you have already selected a workshop but would like to attend a different one instead, click on the “Remove” button next to the workshop’s title.  To add a workshop to your schedule, click on the “Add” button next to the workshop title.  The workshop will now be added to your “My Schedule” tab for easier access.

How do I access the Symposium workshops?

You will be accessing all of the workshops and other special activities by logging into the Symposium Attendee Hub.

You will be asked to log in using the email address listed on your registration.  You will be emailed and texted a verification code that you will use to enter the Symposium Attendee Hub.  The verification code will last 24 hours, after which you will be sent a new one.

You will be able to access all of the Symposium sessions under the “Full Symposium” section, and be able to find the workshops you had selected under the “My Schedule” section.  Make sure to also visit our Virtual Expo and Sponsors sections for additional resources!

How do I watch my workshop?

To watch the 2021 Symposium keynotes, workshops, group connections and other special events, click on the title of the presentation from the My Schedule tab or the Full Symposium tab within the Symposium Attendee Hub.  On the workshop description page, if there is less than an hour before the presentation starts there will be a button in the yellow banner near the top of the page that will begin the video.  There will not be a button showing in the banner if the presentation start time is more than an hour away.

Am I able to see the schedule listed in my time zone?

In the Symposium Attendee Hub you will be able to toggle between Eastern Daylight Time, which is how the workshops were reflected in our brochure and on our website, and with your device time, which should reflect the time zone that you are in.  This feature is available under the “Full Symposium” section in the upper right-hand corner.

Will people be able to see/hear me during the presentations?

Our workshops will not offer the ability to turn on your microphone or camera.  We will be holding Group Connection conversation groups during some of the lunch breaks, and you will be able to turn on your camera and microphone if you would like to interact with other people in the conversation.  More information regarding conversation group options available can be found in the Symposium Attendee Hub.

How will I receive my continuing education credit?

We will be emailing a link to the evaluation for the live workshops after the 2021 Symposium has ended.  You will identify any of the live workshops that you watched as they were occurring live, then evaluate the presentations to receive your CE certificate for those workshops.  For all of the workshops that are self-study, there will be a link to the quiz and evaluation for each workshop within the program's description on 2021 Symposium Conference Portal.  For CE approval information, please visit the following website: Receiving Continuing Education Credit for Your Attendance

What if I can’t watch the presentation at the scheduled time?

Your registration for the 2021 Symposium will include access to the recordings from all of the presentations for the days you are registered to attend for 2 weeks after the event. You would need to watch the presentations that are being presented live in order to receive live credit, but there are also self-study presentations in each time slot that you would be able to complete during that 2 week period to receive self-study credit.

You can also purchase the Complete Symposium Recording Package for an additional $499.99 to receive lifetime access and self-study CE credit on the recordings. These self-study recordings will be available about 4-6 weeks after the event. Please note that the keynote addresses featuring Taraji P. Henson, Bryan Stevenson, and Shankar Vedantam, as well as Shawna Murray-Browne’s How to Heal a ‘Sista’ workshop 304 are not included in the Symposium Recording Package and will only be available for 2 weeks post-Symposium. CE hours and approvals on products may differ from live CE approvals. Some credit approvals expire after a period of time and cannot be guaranteed for a lifetime. Since the self-study recordings include the same content as the live 2021 Symposium you cannot earn credit on both.

I attended a workshop that’s not listed on my schedule.  Can I still get credit?

Yes, you can still earn any credit that is available for the presentation, even if it does not appear on your schedule.  Your schedule is a convenient way of being able to access the workshops you want to attend instead of having to find them in the listing of all the sessions, but it is not required that a workshop you attend to appear on your schedule in order to get credit.  During the evaluation of the live workshops, you will be identifying which of the workshops you attended while they were occurring live.  For any self-study sessions you attend, there will be a separate link to the quiz and evaluation in the description page for each individual workshop.  For CE approval information, please visit the following website: Receiving Continuing Education Credit for Your Attendance

Do I have to add a program to my schedule in order to watch it?

You can attend any presentation that you would like to, even if it hasn’t been added to your schedule.  However, you will not be able to view the chat or Q&A for the workshop if you don’t have the workshop on your schedule.

Will I only be able to see the recordings of the workshops that I have selected for my schedule?

You will be able to access all of the recordings for each day you are registered for within the Symposium Attendee Hub.  The recordings from the workshops will be available about 1-2 hours after the workshop has ended, and you will have access to the recordings for 2 weeks after the Symposium has ended.

Do I need special equipment / What are minimum specs needed to view programs?

We recommend the latest versions of Google Chrome and Firefox Quantum for the best viewing experience.

Streaming programs require a minimum of 250Kbit/s of download speed in order to play without issue. Please click on this link to run a speed test to test your current Internet Connection. If your speed test results for Download are 0.30Mbps or lower you may want to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP - such as Comcast, Spectrum, AT&T) to troubleshoot.

We recommend an internet connection download speed of 1Mbps for the best viewing experience.

WIRED CONNECTION VS WIFI CONNECTION

While WiFi routers have come a long way, a wireless connection is susceptible to more connection issues than a wired connection. Distance from the wireless router, walls, other wireless signals can all impact your connection. If you run into any performance issues in viewing a streaming program, we recommend switching to a wired connection. Please note that you typically will need to disable your wireless connection in order to confirm you are on a wired connection.

Download Speed Test Example

We recommend a wired Internet connect with at least 1Mbps of download speed for the best viewing experience.
