V120 Energy Psychology for Treating Trauma

A Fast Path to Emotional Regulation

What if you could give clients immobilized by trauma or overwhelming affect fast relief, without having to worry about retraumatizing them by rehashing what happened to them? Energy Psychology (EP) techniques are easy to learn, backed by research studies, and have been used to treat everything from test anxiety to PTSD in populations as diverse as veterans and survivors of genocide in Rwanda. In this workshop, you’ll discover how to integrate this bottom-up, mind-body approach into your current methods, removing the traumatic energy and emotions attached to traumatic events in order to regulate emotional hyperarousal, process traumatic memories, and facilitate insight and post-traumatic growth. You’ll learn:

  • Specific EP tools for helping restore calm to clients
  • How to use tapping to treat PTSD and other difficult conditions
  • How to apply the latest research behind energy psychology, as well as the interpersonal neurobiology and polyvagal approaches to integrating EP into your practice
  • How to apply the three mindsets for maintaining clinical confidence when working with trauma

Robert Schwarz, PsyD, DCEP, is the executive director of the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology, and has been treating trauma for over 30 years and using energy psychology for over two decades. He’s also the author of Tools for Transforming Trauma,

Note: This workshop is available as self-study credit.
